Beauty Taming the Street
The streetscape is complete and all the new plantings from Canal to Esplanade seem to be flourishing in our lush humid atmosphere! NRMSI worked with the City to assure that the new plantings along North Rampart from Canal Street to Esplanade Avenue, and beyond, conformed to the plantings already located along the neutral ground. Our Design Committee also worked with the City's contractor to mark and remove any unsightly or damaged plantings, as well as plantings that may have created line-of-sight problems for traffic. |

Dumpster = Continued Progress on the Street!
Vincent Marcello has continued with the renovations to restore the building (624-628) to its old glory and the word is that under that façade is a true Greek revival building. He plans to generate a mixed-use property with commercial downstairs and upper floor housing. |

Housewares/Kitchenware
to Open 2011
With renewed vigor, the buildings are being renovated to bring in not only a hardware store (a much needed business on North Rampart), but also a housewares and kitchenware store. These businesses will be housed in the 700 block of North Rampart, and will provide a community service that has been lacking for many years in the area. We are EXCITED about the progress and can't wait 'til it opens this summer! |
